SUMMARY:Preliminary announcement: Upcoming Call 2023 "Translational research on cancer epigenetics"
DESCRIPTION:The call will be published simultaneously by the funding organisations in their respective countries and on the TRANSCAN website: https://www.transcan.eu \nThe TRANSCAN-3 JTC 2023 will be implemented through a two-stage submission procedure: pre-proposals and full proposals. \nThe call is planned to be launched on May 9th 2023 with a submission deadline for pre-proposals in July 2023. It is expected that consortia invited to the full-proposal stage will be asked to submit their proposal in December 2023. \nInterested researchers and/or research teams are advised to prepare and make necessary contacts and arrangements towards preparing applications. Please see below the details of the call topics and an outline of eligibility criteria. They will be further detailed when the JTC 2023 is published. \nAims of the Call\nThe JTC 2023 of TRANSCAN-3 will focus on: \n«Translational research on cancer epigenetics « \nThe expected outcome of the call is to improve the efficacy of current detection\, diagnosis\, prognosis and treatment of cancers\, through the development of novel approaches based on a better understanding of cancer epigenetics. The specific objectives of this funding opportunity are to stimulate new partnerships between researchers and clinicians and support original\, high-quality projects\, with significant clinical impact. \nIn the context of translational cancer research\, this call for proposals comprises two general aims. Proposals will have to cover at least one of the undermentioned aims or sub-aims. Particular attention should be given to gender balance inclusion in order to intercept sex/gender differences and to consider the role of these differences in the addressed questions. \nAim 1) The role of epigenetics in cancer initiation and progression. These studies may aim to validate novel epigenetics-based biomarkers to improve detection\, diagnosis\, prognosis of cancers or response to therapies (using recently developed innovative approaches\, multiomic approaches\, single-cell analysis\, patient-derived organoids\, patient-derived xenografts\, tumour samples collected from retrospective and/or prospective cohorts of patients or clinical trials). \n\nSpecific aim 1.1: To understand cancer initiation and progression by characterisation of the epigenetic landscape.\nSpecific aim 1.2: To define epigenetic features of cells in the tumour microenvironment that may promote tumour progression (e.g.\, immune cells\, vascular cells\, microbiota).\nSpecific aim 1.3: To study the role of epigenetic modifications as predictors of cell persistence or treatment resistance.\nSpecific aim 1.4: To validate epigenetic markers useful to improve early detection and diagnosis by exploring the correlation between epigenetics and clinical cancer manifestation.\n\nAim 2) Validation of new epigenetics-based therapeutic strategies to limit cancer progression\, prevent relapse/recurrence or increase the efficiency or reduce toxicity of existing anti-cancer therapies. \n\nSpecific aim 2.1: To validate novel therapeutic targets (novel targets should be evaluated in translational studies with regard to their impact on treatment efficacy\, safety and patient reported outcomes).\nSpecific aim 2.2: To study the potential use of epigenetic modulators to overcome resistance to anti-cancer therapies.\nSpecific aim 2.3: To develop novel epidrugs/therapeutic approaches\, through phase I and II clinical trials (investigating combinations of available treatments\, new therapeutics\, new administration schemes\, etc.) to improve safety and efficacy of treatments (objective responses; patient reported outcomes regarding morbidity and quality of life; etc.).\nSpecific aim 2.4: To develop novel theranostic approaches involving epigenetics of cancer.\n\nApplicants will have the opportunity to add an additional section for capacity building activities (with an associated separate budget\, in compliance with the rules of their respective national/regional funding organisations). DESCRIPTION:Closing date: 1 September 2023 17:00 CET \nThe BY-COVID project has an open call for proposals to support the implementation of additional SARS-CoV-2 data hubs to increase the flow of viral sequence data into the European Nucleotide Archive (ENA)\, in line with open science principles. \nThe call contributes to the broader ambition of creating a pan-European network for the mobilisation and analysis of pathogen data\, including from SARS-CoV-2. SUMMARY:Proyectos de I+D+i en líneas estratégicas - Transmisiones 2023
DESCRIPTION:La iniciativa TransMisiones 2023 es una acción que se ejecuta en colaboración entre el Centro para el Desarrollo Tecnológico y de Innovación (CDTI) y la Agencia Estatal de Investigación (AEI) por la que se coordina la financiación a agrupaciones de empresas y a agrupaciones de organismos de investigación y de difusión de conocimiento que colaboran para el desarrollo conjunto de una actuación coordinada de I+D\, que dé respuesta a los desafíos identificados en las prioridades temáticas. \nPrioridades Temáticas: \n\nContribuir al desarrollo de una industria avanzada y competitiva explotando las posibilidades de tres tecnologías profundas: Inteligencia Artificial (IA)\, incluyendo el Machine Learning (ML)\, nuevos materiales y biotecnología industrial.\nImpulsar la seguridad de la información y la ciberseguridad en la industria y la economía española.\nContribuir a la transición energética en España y al desarrollo de las energías del siglo XXI.\nImpulsar el desarrollo de un sector agroalimentario y ganadero avanzado\, sostenible y preparado ante el cambio climático y que realiza un uso relevante de herramientas  biotecnológicas.\nImpulsar una gestión avanzada de los Recursos Hídricos\nImpulsar nuevos sistemas para la prevención y lucha contra incendios forestales basados en el uso de tecnologías avanzadas.\n\nLa presente convocatoria\, gestionada por la Agencia Estatal de Investigación\, financiará los proyectos desarrollados en colaboración por agrupaciones de organismos de investigación y difusión de conocimientos\, que se incluyan en una actuación coordinada de I+D en el marco de la iniciativa TransMisiones 2023. SUMMARY:Consolidación Investigadora 2023_AEI
DESCRIPTION:Se enmarca en el Plan Estatal de Investigación Científica\, Técnica y de Innovación 2021-2023\, dentro del Programa Estatal para Desarrollar\, Atraer y Retener Talento\, Subprograma Estatal de Incorporación. Las ayudas objeto de esta resolución están financiadas por el Mecanismo de Recuperación y Resiliencia de la Unión Europea. \nDentro del objetivo general de fomentar la consolidación de la carrera profesional de personas investigadoras\, esta convocatoria promueve específicamente la consolidación de personas cuyo ámbito de investigación se enmarque en una de las temáticas estratégicas establecidas\, inteligencia artificial (IA) y microelectrónica y semiconductores (Chips)\, para lo que se destinarán 20.000.000 de euros para la financiación de actuaciones en estos ámbitos (10.000.000 de euros en cada uno de ellos)\, del presupuesto total de la convocatoria. \nREQUISITOS DEL/DE LA INVESTIGADOR/A PRINCIPAL DE LA ACTUACIÓN (IP) \no    Titulación de doctor/a. \no    Actividad científico-técnica:  Cumplir uno de los siguientes requisitos: \n1.- Haber presentado solicitud para la obtención del certificado R3 como investigador/a establecido/a. En la fecha en la que se publique la PRP de CNS23\, deberá haber obtenido el certificado R3 o\, en su defecto\, figurar en la propuesta de resolución donde se recoja la relación de personas solicitantes que han superado la evaluación de los requisitos de calidad de la producción y actividad científico-tecnológica establecidos para el certificado R3. \n2.- Estar en posesión del certificado I3 \n3.- En el caso de no cumplir ninguno de los 2 requisitos anteriores\, haber obtenido el grado de doctor/a en una fecha anterior al 1 de enero de 2016 y ser o haber sido beneficiario/a de un programa para la incorporación de personal investigador financiado por algún agente público del SECTI\, por la Unión Europea o por algún organismo internacional-. \no    Vinculación: no será necesaria la misma en el momento de presentar la solicitud ni durante el procedimiento de concesión\, pero sí desde\, al menos\, el inicio del cuarto mes de ejecución del proyecto y hasta la finalización del proyecto\, admitiéndose\, por tanto\, la falta de vinculación durante los tres primeros meses de ejecución. \no    Incompatibilidades: \n–          Las personas IPs no podrán figurar en más de una solicitud de esta convocatoria. \n–          No figurar como IP en una solicitud financiada en la convocatoria 2022 de esta actuación. \n–         No habrá incompatibilidad con la participación en proyectos que hayan obtenido financiación de convocatorias de proyectos de los Planes Estatales de Investigación Científica y Técnica y de Innovación\, del VII Programa Marco de I+D+i\, de los Programas Marco de I+D+i Horizonte 2020 y Horizonte Europa o de iniciativas de Programación Conjunta del Espacio Europeo de Investigación\, de los Planes Regionales de I+D+i de las Comunidades Autónomas\, o de cualquier otra convocatoria\, siempre y cuando se respete el límite máximo de horas/año para cada categoría profesional establecido en el convenio laboral o equivalente de la entidad del/de la IP. \nCONVOCATORIA \nPreguntas Frecuentes \nManual para presentar solicitud.  \nAcceso aplicación IP \nPlazo presentación: 7 de julio al 26 de julio (14:00h hora peninsular)
